About Plankton Press

PLANKTON PRESS is a Honolulu based publishing company formed specifically to nurture young authors.

The literary world is a rather frightening place, intimidating even to the most experienced writers. Therefore, Plankton Press wants to provide not only publishing access for young authors, but, through our “Writers Corner,” provide a forum wherein they can meet other creative minds, to collaborate and hone their craft.

We are trying a new approach to publishing, one that offers our young writers a greater percentage of their book’s earnings.  Our standard contract will start at 20%, as opposed to the industry standard of 12%.  But to accomplish this, we must sell directly from our website, as opposed to traditional publishing model of distributors and bookstores.  We are excited at the prospect of not only publishing young authors’ works, but also giving them greater financial returns.  Please support them by ordering online.

Submissions:

Please submit your manuscript with:

• Cover letter
• Brief author biography
  
• First 2-3 chapters of the work and one page synopsis
• Do not submit your original manuscript
  • we are not responsible for lost or damaged submissions
• Approximate page count
• Self-addressed stamped envelope
  • with sufficient Hawaii postage for return, or
  • International Reply Coupon if mailing from outside the U.S.

Manuscript Requirements:

Manuscripts must be:

• Proofread for spelling and grammatical mistakes
• Double-spaced
• Contain your full address and telephone number on a cover page
• Include your name on the top right-hand corner of every page
